Do cooking techniques affect flatulence?

I am currently trying to truly understand how food and my digestive system interacts. My most recent experience was baking cottage pie.

I ate the fried mince before I baked it and was fine. But with the fried then baked mince there was smelly air to follow!!

Is there something in the ingredients or cooking technique that would cause this?
